The battle of the Southern Shoulder and Hill 313 are important to this story. The fog of battle, friendly fire, bitter cold and a turning point in the war. The VE Day and the Voyage Home are now complete.
Brother Mike has provided information about William Sikes, Geneva Sike's grandfather and Carl's great-grandfather describing Williams service during the Civil War on both the Union and Confederate sides. I have really tried to format this blog for mobile devices. I have come to the conclusion that there is just too much information for a small screen and mere swiping through.
